The power of hot forging at the service of engineering

Hot forging is one of Brawo's historic and distinctive skills: a process that, over time, has allowed us to develop unique expertise and a quality standard among the highest in the industry. Compared to other manufacturing processes, this technology offers greater reliability, eliminates typical defects - such as porosity - and allows components to have superior mechanical characteristics, improved surfaces, and repeatability that guarantees efficiency and waste reduction.

Latest generation forging machines

Brawo's machine park includes over 40 systems, with automatic presses, traditional presses, high-productivity hatebur presses, and hydraulic presses. This allows for the production of products weighing from 0.01 kg to over 20 kg, with both simple and complex geometries.

Our Presses

  • Bell presses (400–700 tons): Featuring automatic operation with electronic servocontrols, this technology allows the production of large components, with significant hollowing and possible undercuts.
  • Mobile die presses (forging or drilling presses, 200–1600 tons): Screw-driven or mechanically controlled machines, available as both vertical drilling presses- designed for products requiring vertical pin penetration - and horizontal drilling presses, which allow for pin insertion on all four sides.
  • Fixed die presses (1200 tons): Suitable for high-precision machining of large parts requiring high deformation force.
  • Hatebur Presses: High-productivity presses - up to 10,000 parts/hour, suitable for large-volume components with simple geometries (nuts, shanks, nipples, and hollow balls).
  • Hydraulic Presses: Latest-generation presses capable of producing parts with highly complex geometries and allowing significant optimization in terms of material usage. This is made possible by the independent penetration movements of the pins and the ability to perform forging with closed dies.

Temperature Control

Forging temperature is one of the key parameters to ensure the quality of the forged product. All systems are served by gas-fired, air-circulated, or induction heating furnaces, equipped with billet temperature monitoring using two-color optical pyrometers, connected to supervisory systems. This system ensures the forging of blanks within the specified temperature range. Special attention is also paid to lubrication, which is now fully integrated into the dies.

More than simple hot forging

At Brawo, hot forging is an advanced industrial process, developed in close collaboration with the customer. This approach integrates technical expertise, advanced technologies, and process optimization to improve component performance and production efficiency. We work with our partners to refine products and processing cycles, reducing complexity and costs, and offering competitive and reliable solutions. This is how a proven technology becomes a tangible asset to meet the needs of current and future markets.
